Halco - Slidog 125

Everyone loves a good underdog story! The new Slidog 125 joins our stickbait pack just under the Slidog 150 and is sure to bark just as loud! Featuring the same highly versatile action that attracts beasts from the deep, the 125 is packed into a compact body profile that will be applicable in countless shallow and midwater situations.

The lure will be in its element being belted out over bubbling bait schools to entice pelagics at pace, but just as deadly being slowly twitched amongst shallow bombies, terrorizing territorial coral trout and spangled emperor populations.

Featuring the ever-reliable 1/0 Mustad Trebles and our legendary ultra tough 4xx fish rings, the Slidog 125 is equipped to fight well above its weight class.

The lure is 125mm long and weighs in at 52g, allowing for epic castability with a medium casting outfit, inevitably covering more ground and finding more fish.

The action on the Slidog 125 is extremely easy to use:

  • Straight wind at any speed and let the lure do all the work
  • Stop and go with big or sharp sweeps for a more erratic movement
  • Or just let it sink as it has an awesome side-to-side shimmy action on the drop making it great for any depth.

  • Applications: Casting
  • Length: 125mm, 4.9 Inches
  • Weight: 52g
  • Buoyancy: Fast Sinking
  • Hooks: 1/0 Mustad Trebles
  • Split Rings: 4xx

Techniques for Fishing:

1. Topwater Retrieve: Use a steady retrieve with the Halco Slidog, keeping it on the water's surface to attract fish with its enticing swimming action.

2. Jerking Action: Incorporate occasional jerks during the retrieve to create a darting motion, simulating an injured or fleeing baitfish.

3. Variable Retrieval Speed: Experiment with different retrieval speeds. Sometimes a slow and steady retrieve works best, while at other times, a faster pace might trigger more aggressive strikes.

4. Pause and Twitch: Intermittently pause the retrieval, giving the Slidog a chance to suspend in the water. Add subtle twitches to imitate a wounded or struggling prey.

5. Target Structure: Cast near structures like rocks, docks, or vegetation where predatory fish might hide. The Halco Slidog's design makes it effective in these areas.

6. Adjust for Conditions: Tailor your approach based on the weather and water conditions. On calm days, a more subtle presentation might be effective, while choppy water may call for a more aggressive retrieve.

7: Experiment with Colors: Depending on the water clarity and light conditions, try different colors of the Halco Slidog to see which ones attract more attention from fish.

Always adapt your techniques based on the specific characteristics of the fishing environment and the behavior of the targeted fish species.

Halco Lure Tech

A heap of Halco lures are UV reactant & start humming when the purple light hits them, without affecting their normal appearance.

Bulletproof Bibs

Halco bibs are bloody tough! Made out of the same polycarbonate material as bulletproof glass, our bibs are up for the fight.

Designed to Bleed

The more they chew the better they look! Chrome colours are painted red underneath.

This allows some of our lure colours to glow strongly in the dark, without affecting their normal daytime appearance!
