Halco – Laser Pro 45

The Laser Pro 45 is a slow sinking hard body lure. The rear weighting counteracts the small size of the lure, making it ideal for gaining more control and casting distance. Whether you are slow-rolling or twitching the lure back towards you, remember to pause the Laser Pro 45 every now and then.

This stop and start retrieve method allows you to keep the Laser Pro 45 in the strike zone longer, which increases your chances of triggering a strike from the fish. Before you use this lure, you can try and work out how long it takes to sink for say a metre. This will give you an idea of when you should start your retrieve in the depth of water you are fishing in.

The Halco Laser Pro 45 comes with No 10 Mustad Black Nickel trebles and weighs 6 grams. It is ideal for bream through to flathead in the salt, and bass through to trout in the fresh.

  • Length: 47mm, 1.8 Inches
  • Weight: 6 Grams

Techniques for Fishing:

1. Trolling: The Halco Laser Pro is often used for trolling. Adjust the trolling speed based on the target species and water conditions. Vary the depth by using different sinking versions or adding weight to your line.

2. Jerking and Twitching: When casting, employ a jerking or twitching action during retrieval. Mimic an injured baitfish by giving the lure sudden, erratic movements to trigger predatory instincts.

3. Pause and Drop: After a few steady cranks, pause the retrieval occasionally. This allows the lure to sink momentarily, imitating a wounded fish. Be ready for strikes during the drop.

4. Vary Retrieval Speed: Experiment with different retrieval speeds. Sometimes a fast retrieve can trigger aggressive strikes, while a slower pace might entice more cautious fish.

5. Change Colors: If the bite is slow, try switching to a different color pattern. Fish can be selective, and a color change might make your lure more appealing.

6. Target Structure: Focus on areas with underwater structures like drop-offs, reefs, and submerged vegetation. The Halco Laser Pro is effective at different depths, so adapt your approach based on the structure you're targeting.
