Halco – Laser Pro 190

The Laser Pro 190 is widely recognized as one of the worlds best blue-water trolling lures. It can be trolled over a wide speed band, however, its optimum speed for trolling for pelagics is around 6.5 knots.

All Halco Laser Pro’s feature Halco’s unique Bullet Proof Bib securing system, ensuring that your lures stand the test of time, and continue to catch fish after fish. Try pairing the Laser Pro 190 with the Snap or Super Snap wire traces to ensure your chances of landing those sharp-toothed fish like Barracuda, Wahoo, and Mackerel.

Remember, always troll your lures at different distances from the boat. Not only does this cover more area, but it also avoids tangles when turning the boat, as the closer lure will pass under the further lure during the turn. The Laser Pro 190 model has three diving depth options- Standard (1m), Deep Diver (2m+) and Crazy Deep XDD (6m) and can be trolled up to 11 knots.

Techniques for Fishing:

1. Trolling: The Halco Laser Pro is often used for trolling. Adjust the trolling speed based on the target species and water conditions. Vary the depth by using different sinking versions or adding weight to your line.

2. Jerking and Twitching: When casting, employ a jerking or twitching action during retrieval. Mimic an injured baitfish by giving the lure sudden, erratic movements to trigger predatory instincts.

3. Pause and Drop: After a few steady cranks, pause the retrieval occasionally. This allows the lure to sink momentarily, imitating a wounded fish. Be ready for strikes during the drop.

4. Vary Retrieval Speed: Experiment with different retrieval speeds. Sometimes a fast retrieve can trigger aggressive strikes, while a slower pace might entice more cautious fish.

5. Change Colors: If the bite is slow, try switching to a different color pattern. Fish can be selective, and a color change might make your lure more appealing.

6. Target Structure: Focus on areas with underwater structures like drop-offs, reefs, and submerged vegetation. The Halco Laser Pro is effective at different depths, so adapt your approach based on the structure you're targeting.

Always pay attention to the behavior of the fish and adjust your technique accordingly. The versatility of the Halco Laser Pro allows you to experiment with various styles until you find what works best on a given day.
